What the data shows
- Nationally, homeowners paid around $8,850 for a 2026 asphalt shingle roof replacement.
- Among the 40 biggest metros, San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara tops the price list — around $11,350, or +28% above the national figure.
- At the other end, El Paso came in cheapest among major metros, at about $8,000 (-10%).
